The Board of Directors is responsible for the decision-making, supervision, and control of any topic related to the organisation, administration, operation of the Foundation; ensuring that the aims and goals are successfully attained.
Michalis Avraam - Chairman
Michalis Abraam was born and raised in Limassol. He originates from the occupied village of Ag. Acquired Kyrenia. He attended Laniteio High School and Laniteio Lyceum A ‘. He is a graduate of the 2003 Military School of Guards, holds a Bachelors of Economics and a Master of Business Administration.
Christis Plastiras - Vice Chairman
Christis Plastiras graduated from Computer Science department from Cambridge University, and from Imperial University with a Master degree in Finance. He founded the computer company Melior Ltd and is one of the founders of an online web design and management company such as Ergodotisi.com and Portofolakis.com. He has served as Director of Entrepreneurship Development at CIIM with an active role in the creation of the IDEA hatchery. He is an active member of the Cypriot business ecosystem. He is currently the director of an international start-up based in Cyprus.
Lefteris Eleftheriou - Secretary
Lefteris D. Eleftheriou was born on August 4, 1990 in Limassol. He is a graduate of Laniteio Lyceum A’ and served for 2 years in the ranks of the Cyprus National Guard. After the end of his term, he went to the United Kingdom where he studied law at the University of Surrey. He is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and the Limassol Bar Association. He is also a registered Ombudsman in the Cyprus Ombudsman Register. He lives and works in Limassol, practicing law.
Periklis Kleitou - Treasurer
Periklis Kleitou is 27 years old and comes from Limassol. He served his military service in the Underwater Disaster Team. He holds a degree in Environmental Biology and Education (University of Brighton) and a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Aquaculture(University of St Andrews). He works for Marine and Environmental Research Lab Ltd (Cyprus). He has been involved and participated in many research projects related to the marine ecosystem and he is raising public awareness on environmental issues. In addition, he has published and presented in scientific journals and conferences internationally and locally.
Elena Maniatopoulou Hadjipanayi - Member
Elena Maniatopoulou Hadjipanayi is a Senior HR Consultant and Coach, born and raised in Athens, Greece. She moved to Cyprus in 2001, and started her career in Bank of Cyprus where she stayed for 10 years. She has been actively involved in the maritime sector since 2011, being the HR Manager of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) Cyprus for 7 years. She is currently the Director of ForwardMindsets Ltd, a people-management solutions provider, consulting companies in various industries. She holds a BSc in Business Administration from University of LaVerne and a MSc in Organizational Psychology, from University of London, Βirkbeck. Elena is currently a PhD Candidate and Adjunct Lecturer at University of Cyprus. She is a certified psychometric assessor, an accredited Advanced Sound Labor Relations Officer, and a Senior Coaching Practitioner, accredited by the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC). She is a full member of the Cyprus Human Resources Association (CyHRMA), the Sound Labour Relations (SLR) Network & the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) in the U.S. She is also an Ambassador of the AgeFactor EU project, promoting age diversity in organizations. Elena is also a pianist, holding a diploma from Conservatorium of East Attica, Athens.
